EWM multimedia presentation

European Women in Mathematics has some materials available for the purpose of promotion, including a multimedia presentation and a brochure.

 

Marjo Lipponen , who is currently the deputy convenor for EWM, tells more:

 

 

The first time I saw the multimedia presentation was during our 12th Conference in Volgograd in 2005.

It was created by the local organizers using MS PowerPoint.

We watched it on a big screen in the lobby of the University of Volgograd, at one of the breaks during the Conference sessions.

It looked very impressive, with music in the background and lots of pictures of fellow women mathematicians.

I took a copy with me to Finland and together with the EWM Secretary Paula Steinby we updated the presentation and added more details, pictures etc.

The main idea was to create the material to advertise our forthcoming conference in Cambridge.

 

The brochure was created to meet the obvious need for more information on EWM in an easily distributable form. It is a four-page leaflet with core information of the organization, and a nice photo of some female mathematicians. The brochure comes handy at conferences and other similar occasions, where many people gather and have no possibility for personal discussions.
